Bored With Windows Interface? Here’s Winterface

If you’re a big fan of VITO, you would have noticed that there was a big question mark at the bottom right of their iWindowsMobile page with the words ‘Coming Soon’ just below it. Well wonder no because on this day, VITO has finally released the last installment of their iWindowsMobile to complete their lineup.
Winterface is a shell replacement for your Windows Mobile device. In fact, it closely resembles that of a certain platform whose developer plans to sell 10 million units of. With such huge numbers, you know they’re doing something right. VITO knows that and from their strength comes this new application. That’s to say that Winterface makes your device a lot more finger-friendly and customizable, features which have made the iPhone a hit among consumers.
For users who wanted a shell replacement from VITO but felt that their GoodWin offering was rather weak and lacked some much needed features, then Winterface is an application that you’ll want to check out. I have been playing with it for a couple of days now and have been rather impressed with it. Sure there are some features lacking but it definitely has the potential to be great. Watch out for my review coming up soon enough.
Interested users can download a copy of Winterface to try for 14 days. After that, licenses will set you back $19.95. (via VITO Press Release)

Uh, it’s nice, but why not auto-start? It seems I have to run the program from the today screen or switch the app to get to it.
Good point. Which is rather weird because the process is active but the interface does not come up. Maybe VITO will have an option in future versions?
I have to agree with MidMOMan. The product is described as a “shell replacement” and it’s not. Compare its behaviour to that of SPB Mobile Shell which you don’t have to start as ‘it’s always on’. I like the interface which if embedded into the OS a bit more would be nice along with a few additional ’settings’. However when its ‘on’ I do like it so hopefully Vito will go forward and improve on v.1.1 and make it into a good shell
I do agree. I think this application has a lot of potential and hopefully VITO will work on the wishlist which I mention in my review.
