Break The Law, Win A Bluetooth Headset

Did you get caught talking on your phone without a handsfree kit yesterday? Well we did remind you about the law which went into effect in California yesterday but if you still got caught, well we’ll try to soften the impact with this piece of news.
Headsets.com is planning to give away a Plantronics Discovery 925, valued at $149.99 to one lucky dude who got ticketed. While I am not sure what to say about rewarding law breakers, I guess equipping one more driver with the means to not get caught is a good thing. So if have a ticket, send it over to them and see if you can turn bad into good. (via cNet)

Seems a bit unorthodox to reward people for breaking the law. I hope people don’t get a ticket just in hopes of winning this prize.
I totally agree with you on this. I found it rather confusing as well. Seems like it’s better to get a ticket and try your chances. Kind of like a lottery. But like all lotteries, you’re better off just buying a headset yourself.
Agreed!
And by the way, the $20 ticket is a joke, in the Netherlands if you get caught with the phone in your hand while driving, be prepared to pay 140 euros ($220)!
Hey great idea wish I had through about it. Don’t think about it as rewarding a law breaker, but rather that you are making the roads safer.
I would do the same on my site, but you already came up with a great idea. I’ll have to think of something else!
hi,
I am also agree with May Cheung. For this reward i dont want to break a law. sorry I dont want this reward.
@spmwinkel - although the ticket is only $20 for the first offence, they also throw in court costs and a bunch of other costs bringing the ticket closer to $100 for the first offence.
