Are you always forgetting the birthdays and anniversaries of those closest and dearest to you? There are ways around this. For one, you could enter those dates into your Contacts and set the reminders. Or you could get your Personal Information Manager (PIM) to handle it for you. But if you do not want to do either for whatever reason, there is now a standalone program that helps you manage these important dates and more. That program is CT Birthday For Smartphones by Connective Tools.
Currently in beta (v0.9beta to be exact), it’s free for you to download and use. However, like the title says, it’s only for Smartphones that is the non-touchscreen Windows Mobile devices out there. Support is limited only to WM5 and WM6 devices. It claims to have the perfect and a convenient user interface to make managing just about any important date to you easily. This means that not only can you add birthdays and anniversaries but also other important dates like the day you propose or the launch of your new site. Keeping track of these dates is one thing, but that’s not all it does. It will also show you the age of that event so that you wouldn’t need to trouble yourself doing the maths. It also has the usual features like reminders an icons for alerts and easy organizations. But that’s not all. Say you have already made plans for the upcoming event. Then you can do an early dismiss on the event so that you will not get one when the time comes. Pretty nifty eh?
It’s still in beta so there are some features that I was hoping for that is missing but it seems that the developers are aware of it. That’s because they’ve already planned for it. Features like scanning your contacts database, setting individual sounds and reminders, icon selection as well being able to send a text message directly from the application are already planned for. Not to mention that it will also have a Homescreen plug-in which will show you the upcoming dates without launching the application.
So if you’re ready to give this a go, head over here to download your application. Don’t forget to provide feedback to the developer. It’s a beta after all right? (via Connective Tools News)
