HTC’s New Price List
HTC just announced some really hot new devices but there were no news on it’s prices; until now. Thankfully, Windows Mobile Italy has given us what we’ve all been waiting for. I hope you’ve been saving up because they’ll be setting you back by a bit:
HTC Touch HD: €849/$1,200 USD*
HTC Touch Viva: €279/$390 USD*
HTC touch 3G: €499/$699 USD*
*US prices are estimates
The Touch HD is slated for a Q4 2008 launch, which we just entered, so expect that to be very soon. Both the Touch Viva and 3G has been confirmed for a launch later this month. All 3 devices will be meeting Europeans first though it would just a matter of time before we see the trio in other parts of the world.

$1,200 USD? What are they thinking? I can buy two hi quality laptops for that much. Good luck to them…
Yeah it’s definitely on the high side. I guess one of the reasons is the weak US economy that does not give us favorable rates.
I thought about the weak US economy as a contributing factor, Tariq, but if that were the cause then surely it would also affect the price of laptops?
Possibly. But the Touch HD is not available in the US so we’d have to import it. As for laptops, we can get the same models (I assume) in the US so we don’t have import it. And that’s where I guess the economy (currency) comes into play.
Makes sense to me.
