It’s Finally Here, The i-mate Ultimate 8502
So after a couple of months of trying to get hold of an i-mate Ultimate 8502, it has finally arrived. I’ve ben wanting to get a front QWERTY keyboard Windows Mobile device for quite some time now but the number of options I had very very limited. Well now that the 8502 is finally here, I can definitely put it through the paces and see just how great a device it is.
Will it exceed the high expectations that I’ve had for it or will it be all one big hype? I’ll have to get back to you on that one but in the mean time, if there’s something that you want me to test on this device, be sure to let me know in the comments below.
Alright then, I’m off to play with my new toy

I would be very interested to know how its 240×320 screen compares to a regular 320×480 screen, even if that judgment entails a certain subjectivity!
And evidently: is the processor strong enough, how about its battery life and how does the keyboard feel.
I am not sure what you mean by regular 320×480. I don’t think I have come across such a resolution and I don’t have access to one so I would not be able to do such a comparison.
But the rest of your request (processor, battery life and keyboard feel) will definitely be covered.
bartveld, I think there is some confusion here. The standard QVGA screen is 320×240. The standard VGA screen is 640×480. The i-Mate has a standard QVGA screen from what Taris has said.

Oops, I definitely messed up that one. Somehow I got it in my head that the i-mate had a different screen resolution and so having checked its specs I automatically resolved that the regular specs of say, my TyTN II were the unknown 320×480. A mystery where I came up with that number. Strange how the mind works.
Anyway, I would also like your view on the weird thingy between the OK and the End buttons. And, though maybe a review is not really the place for such a thing, something about i-mate’s customer service. I’ve been reading some bad stuff about it (never had an i-mate myself) and it is an important factor when buying a new device.
