Jabra Unveils The BT530

Jabra Noise cancellation is all the rage today when it comes to Bluetooth Headset. Jawbone has the Noise Assasin, BlueAnt touts the Noise Free Zone with their Z9 and Z9i headsets and Plantronics promotes their Audio IQ. Jabra didn’t have a name for their noise cancellation technology other than claiming to use DSP but that looks to change when they launch the BT530 with their very own proprietary technology called Noise Blackout.

Jabra BT530

What’s so great about this new technology? Isn’t noise cancellation technology what it is? Well according to Jabra, the Noise Blackout feature will reduce ambient sound without compromising voice quality, providing a balance between noise elimination and the delivery of a natural sounding voice. Supposedly, other manufacturers are not able to do this with their noise cancellation technology. Not only that, there are also some really interesting features of the upcoming Jabra BT530:

  • Dual microphone
  • High Performance with Bluetooth 2.0, including Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) and eSCO
  • Auto-pairing
  • Multipoint technology
  • A2DP & DSP technology
  • Acoustic Shock Protection
  • Up to 5.5 hours of talk time
  • 250 hours standby time
  • 33 foot range
  • 8 ear gels and one ear hook provided for added comfort
  • .35 ounces in weight
  • Micro USB Charger Connection

I was rather surprised to see the A2DP feature up there because I thought this was one of those mono Bluetooth headsets but it could be like the Plantronics 855 which allows you to attach another earpiece. Whether or not that’s the case, we’ll have to wait and see.

That wait won’t be long though as it’s slated for a September release with an approximate retail price of $99.99. Will you be getting one? (via SlashPhone)
