Launch Giveaway Part 1: Welcome to My Today Screen
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to the My Today Screen: Another Look At Windows Mobile launch extravaganza. It is customary, at a birth, to throw a big party with lots of presents. And that is exactly what we are going to do to help celebrate the launch of this website. We are throwing a huge launch party, with Seven Days of Giveaways.
So, here is how this is going to work. We are sitting here in a room which is just overflowing with Windows Mobile software and accessories. Dozens of software developers and hardware manufacturers have turned out for this bash, and we have untold riches to give away. Everything must go!
Each morning at 6:00 AM(EST), I am going to post a contest which highlights one of the features of the site. The contest will be open for at least 36 hours, until 6:00 PM (EST) the following day (if not longer). Each contest will have three (3) massive prize packs to be won.
Ready for the first one? This is pretty basic, so we’ll get right to it. Today’s contest is related to registering and comments. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. To do so, just scroll down to the bottom of the post and fill out the form with your name, email address, website and comment. That was easy. Of course, I can make it even easier. Scroll down to the end of that sidebar on the right hand side, where it says “administration”. Click register and register yourself as a reader on our site. That way, you won’t have to enter your name every time…and we will even give you a second chance to win.

So, two chances to win:
1) Register on the site (anyone who is registered before the expiration of the contest will be eligible to win)
2) Leave a comment.
Want to know what you are playing for? Hit the jump to see the first day prize pack. They are all different, and will be changing every day.

Commenting on a post I need to comment on cause if i don’t comment others may comment, so I’m commenting. What should I comment about?… Oh Yeah give me something for free. One comment i should really make is that I will comment adversely if you don’t have a shift or a eeeepc to give me. What would my comment be, you don’t want to know.
FIRST
Yes I do want to know.
Wow this contest might include enough prizes for months of contests, and you guys fit it all in one week!
I’m in.
What a great site!
Giving all that stuff away..
It’s always interesting to get other facts about Windows Mobile, so I’m happy to see a new site about that topic wich looks great to!
I might be posting al lot this week..
Good luck guys with the website!
(lucky you…who get to test all the new stuff!)
Hi Niek
You could always join us and help us test the stuff and do reviews
How does one go about doing that? I’m interested!
I’m suring that sending a message through the Contact page here:
http://www.mytodayscreen.com/contact/
would get the cooperation started.
If you are interested in contributing to the site then please fill out the contact page (SPM kindly linked to it there). On the pull down menu, you will see an option for I would like to contribute.

Great Site!! Keep up the good work!
As in every field, there are people who walk the path and those who make the path. To some of the finest in the latter category…
Cheers!!!
Keep up the good work and I really look forward to making the Windows-Mobile-Glide a smooth and geek-satisfying one.
Together with you.
Wow! What a great list of give-a-ways!
I’m very interested in your
free stuffblog. Thanks!Good Luck with the site.
Decent site. If you can, try to keep reviewing free softwares for Windows Mobile.
We plan on doing just that
We are planning to have two regular free software features, so you should have plenty to mull. Tariq’s article from yesterday will be evolving into a monthly look at free Windows Mobile software. At the same time, I am bringing back The Arcade this month to bring a monthly look at free games. Not to mention the tips and tricks we will be offering. Lots of free stuff.
Doug
It’s good to see another site for the Windows Mobile platform!
Good Luck!
I just registered but I bookmarked this site the first day I found it. I’m relatively new to Windows Mobile having recently purchased a used Axim X51V. Thanks for creating this user friendly site!
Our pleasure Rico. The X51V is a really awesome device I must say, even if it’s not new. It’s got one of the best VGA screens in the market and it’s slow. Great purchase.
Welcome, wish you good luck with the new site.
welcome and good luck!
What an excellent set of prizes! I’m really delighted by a dedicated WM site - particularly with the promised freeware articles. Best of luck!
Okay, I registered, and it says I’m logged in over on the right, but it didn’t automatically fill in my info on the comment form here. What gives?
Anyway, those prizes sound cool. Sign me up!
Jordan,
Don’t worry, I actually thought the same thing when I first saw that as well. As long as you are registered and logged in, you do not need to fill in your name, email, and url every time you comment. Those fields will be automatically filled when when you hit the submit button.
Doug
Already registered, so just leaving a comment - great way to launch the new site!
Thanks, Ray. And good to see you (and everyone else) here. Just one point of clarification on the contest. Don’t be shy about entering. Winning on one day does not preclude you from further participation.
Doug
I don’t know if my prior comment on Tariq’s comment counts as a comment, so here’s another, with a question: The text of the post says that registering means you don’t have to enter your name every time, but the comment block still has places to put your name and email. So does this mean we can ignore that, or do we still need to enter name/email/URL (or URI) anyway?
Yes, that is correct. If you are registered and logged in then you can just ignore those other blocks.
And for the record, your previous comment would have counted as well.
Doug
Yeah there’s a bit of confusion there with regards to registering and filling up the fields but I am doing this with the fields empty and it still works so don’t worry about it
The site is great guys! I love the fact that this is dedicated to WM and how to work and play with it. Most other sites seem to have gotten, um, off topic as it were, and this is really refreshing. Hope you guys are around for a good long time!
Thanks, JD. I agree, and that is exactly what we were thinking when we started talking about the focus of the site. There seem to be fewer and fewer sites geared exclusively toward Windows Mobile as opposed to mobility in general. Not that we think we are reinventing the wheel here or anything. Just explaining the niche we hope to fill.
Doug
Hi Guys welcome to the web. Looks like another useful source of informations.
P.S Hope you ship these prize packages across the Atlantic
Not to worry, Robin. Most of the prizes are software, and gettkng them across the Atlantic is as easy as sending an email.
Doug
Doug, nice site you and Tariq have going here! You’re in my bookmarks.
Very nice,
I am also interested in being a contributor… you should see info shortly
Nice to hear that Brian
You can never have too many WM sites, so I have already added this to my RSS feeds. Looking forward to always trying and never winning anything.
Great site, been looking forward to the launch all week. Need help registering though, as no reply via e-mail when I filled out the registration. Looking forward to a long relationship with MyTodayScreen!
Good luck to all who sail in her
If you still do not receive an email, try to login and then choose the option that says you forgot password to get the password. That should do the trick.
Wow, great to see some folks interested in contributing. I will be sitting my mailbox waiting to hear from you.
Martyn (or anyone else for that matter), if you are still having trouble registering or logging in, please fill out the contact form and let us know what is going on.
Doug
Ooo, what fantastic looking prize packs! Just a question. If silly little Ragart were to win, could he still give away the other Windows Mobile software he wouldn’t be able to use? What if he was just interested in winning an AWESOME free case?
Here’s to me winning my first contest ever!!!!!
Happy April 1, WMTS!
Ragart,
If you, or anyone else were to win, then all prizes are fully transferable. As long as you have the username and email address (or shipping address in some cases) or the person to whom you are giving the prize.
Doug
This site looks cool.
Like the name of the site a lot!
Cool site.
I normally read via RSS. I added your feed sometime early last week.
Count me in, both for the contest and for the site in general.
Congrats on the site launch! BTW, your emails get caught by gMails spam filter. Might be because the sender shows as WebPress?
Rick
Looks like you have to add us to your Contacts and that will solve the problem
Looking forward to reading here.
Nice to see another site dedicated to WinMo. I use in both my cell phone and my ‘PMP’ (HTC Advantage), and I’m always looking for more information. Keep it comong!
John
looking forward to reading your site daily!
Thank you, and good luck with the new site,
I like it already!
Sweet…..
New site, looks great.
Free stuff, even better.
Keep up the great work.
I look forward to detailed product reviews and tips.
I am new to PPC coming from Palm.
I will be coming to this site often.
Love the site.
Awesome site!
I hope I win! Great site guys!
Great site.
This site has already been added to my daily RSS feeds, great start!
Great to be here.
A WM specific site with good reviews is always welcome.
Another greedy commenter, in it for the loot!
Like what I have seen of the site so far (not really intended as shameless sucking up, but oh well)
Looks like a great start, with a contest that has great prizes!
What an amazing list of software to give away. The site looks really good. Keep up the good work.
Another source for WM info. Looking forward to see what info I can get from your site.
What the heck- I could use some free stuff!
Great site. Thanks for “111 Free Software” article. Wouldn’t have known about “palringo” if it wasn’t for that article.
I’m a pretty new WM6 user and have been looking at what software to add to my device, especially freeware. I will read your review of freeware next and will probably add the site to my RSS feeds. Good luck with your new site!
I won!!!
