Well this came earlier than expected. Then again, with all those leaked photos, it was just a matter of time before we get to know the full details about it. For those still in the dark, here are some photos and specs:
- Qualcomm MSM 7201, 400MHz
- 320×320 flush touchscreen
- Windows Mobile 6.1
- Tri-Band 3G, Quad-Band EDGE
- GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi (with that fancy switch)
- MicroUSB
- 2mp camera
- 3.5 mm headset jack
- 1500 mAh battery
Interested? Well it’s going to cost you $549 for an unlocked version if you live here in the United States and about EUR399 with contract. Launch date is September for those in Europe while sometime in fall for us over here. And it seems that it’s not just the end users who are thrilled about this device as this video shows:
What do you think? Will you be picking one up?

There are only two things I would change to make this the perfect device from what I have seen so far…better camera and miniUSB connection. The miniUSB is mainly because I have so many miniUSB to USB and miniUSB chargers sitting around at work and home. I understand that microUSB may be the future, but it also means I have to replace accessories (which I am used to at this point in the mobile game).
The 2MP camera disappoints me, especially because they say this is for a “power user”. A power user would want something like a 5MP camera. The 2MP cameras have been standard for Windows Mobile phones for way too long and I think Palm could have stepped their game up here big time.
All of that being said…I think device will be the best fit for how I use my phone and I plan on getting one as soon as it is released.
