It seems that Proporta aren’t too happy that England did not qualify for this year’s but that’s not going to stop them from giving away discounts now would it? I myself and not sure how those 2 ideas can be connected but hey, who am I to say no to a discount? Trying to explain their actions, here’s what Proporta had to say:

Well, a certain member of our staff is English, and she is not too pleased that England didn’t make it.
Instead, she’ll be rooting for France. They play good soccer games!

The Netherlands! We’ve got Italy and France in our group so we’ll probably lose big time in the first three matches. But if we win from those two, I think we’ve got a pretty good chance to get very far!
By the way, The Guardian had a poll among 48,232 readers, about who the UK should cheer for now that there is no UUK or Irish precense in EURO 2008… The outcome? No less than 96.2% (!!!) said the UK should vote for the Netherlands.
Being from the Netherlands, that makes me proud. Of course we do have Van de Sar in our goal, who helped Manchester win the Champions League.
Oh yeah, he’s an awesome goalie I have to agree. And that statistic is really surprising but I wonder why (just curious) though
Maybe the two are connected, maybe the Brits think “Van de Sar helped one of our clubs get the Champions League, so he and his country have our sympathy.`

Yes we’ll need it a lot. Many of our players have injuries :(. As I said, we’ve got some serious opponents the first round. But if we can beat those, there’s hope.
All the best to the German team as well, until they face the Dutch of course!

We won 3-0! What a great way to start, best result in this tournament yet. Of course we’re only three days in. Let’s hope they can keep it up!

This will definitely get interesting and it’s going to be hard to call but I think Holland will beat France.
Out of a twisted sense of humour, I´d love to see Germany v. Holland in the final (old rivals and all ..). And then for Germany to win! Hee hee! Sorry spmwinkel

Hehe if we can beat the world champion (which played good as well, they just thoug th the goal was twice as high as it really is) we can at least beat Romania to secure 6 points. Even against France would make it 7 points. Would be nice if it ends up something like that.
Croatia shouldn’t be underestimated but Germany can take them on. The nice thing is that with Germany in group B and Holland in C, a Germany-Holland finale is quite possible. And trust me, the entire Dutch population is waiting for that. We just have to make sure that we don’t get too confident though.

Starting to look like Holland are going to be the “Giant Killers” of the Euro 2008. And with Germany having played so poorly against Croatia the other night, it looks like Holland has good cards for being in the final but not necessarilary against Germany.

Thanks! We’re now in 1st place of our group and the others can only battle for 2nd place. I’m not going to become over convinced though, it’s typically something for the Dutch team to play real well at first, and then mess up in the first Quarter finales. Well we do have Van de Sar who did an outstanding job last night. The next 5 days will be really interesting for some.
