Protect Yourself From ActiveSync Attacks
You might have heard by now about how a hacker could take over your locked computer with just a Windows Mobile device and ActiveSync.
One way to overcome this hack is to put ActiveSync into Guest Mode (so the screen above does not come up) permanently which means you’ll still be able to use the device to access the internet, act as a modem and even browse its content in Explorer. Only problem is you will not be able to sync anything with the computer so an Exchange server might be in order.
So how do you do this? If you guessed registry hack, bingo! WMExperts has a simple hack to get this done. I have not tried it out myself as I don’t see a need to based on my situation. But if you feel a fix is in order, be sure to check them out.
