Resco Updates Backup To v1.20

When I reviewed Resco Backup 2 weeks back, I mentioned that it was a great application but there were some issues that kept me from using it as my main backup application. The main problem was the lack of auto reset on my device, be it after a scheduled or manual backup.
Well Resco has been hard at work and discussing the problems with me for some time now and it seems that they’ve got it sorted out, among other fixes.
Which is really awesome. For me, the biggest problem has been resolved which makes it an even better software than before. There are also some changes and additions to v1.20 which include:
New
- Substantially faster Restore + other minor speed improvements
- Verify/Diff: Partial update lets you override Stop applications setting (causing otherwise a reset)
- Better report in the Verify procedure:
Registry and similar files are marked as “frequently changed” so that the user is not tempted to do unnecessary updates.- Desktop unpack tool (downloadable from the Resco web site)
Fixes
- Problems with restoring emails on some devices
If you have turned your back on Resco Backup, I would recommend that you give this new version a try. The installed size has been reduced to under 600KB which is great when you consider that it’s best installed to main memory and the speed improvements are significant. (via Resco)

Geez, talk about lousy timing. In the course of trying to solve a problem today I have done several hard resets and restores. These were my first full restores with Resco. I’m not sure I would say the restore was slow, but I did put two kids through school before it was done.
I hope I don’t get to see how much faster 1.2 is.
I know what you mean. Well hopefully such a thing doesn’t happen again but if it does, you know that Resco’s got your back with the latest.
