When I first got the chance to review the O2 XDA Atom Life, I was pretty excited. It’s not a new device, granted, but it’s still a great device. And when I heard how much it was going for, I just had to tell you about it. You see, the Atom Life (as I shall refer to it from now on), is not made by HTC. No, it’s actually made by Quanta Apollo and they’ve made it like no other device out there.
The 2 biggest selling points of Atom Life would have to be it’s 1GB of ROM and 624MHz processor. That has to be to he largest ROM on a Pocket PC device that stands true to its name. (The HTC Advantage, while having a bigger ROM, is not exactly something that I can put in my pocket can I?) And the processor, clocked in at 624MHz, is the fastest available on the market right now. So even after a year of it’s release in March 2007, the Atom Life still has specifications that are unmatched by most devices out there. Here’s a list of what else is onboard:
Tri Band GSM (850, 1800, 1900)- Dual Band UMTS (1900, 2100)
- 624MHz Intel XScale PXA270
- 1024MB ROM
- 64MB RAM
- 2.7″ qVGA Screen
- minSD Storage Card Slot
- Infrared
- Bluetooth 1.2
- WiFi B/G
- FM Radio Receiver
- 1.9MP Back-Facing CMOS Camera With Flash
- VGA (640×480) Front-Facing Camera
- Running Windows Mobile 5
- 58 x 106 x 18.5 mm
- 145gram With Battery

The triband GSM and dualband UMTS might prove a problem for AT&T users but I will be sure to check it out. If you have any questions about the device, let me know in the comments below. Or if there is something that you would like me to test out, let me know as well.
Stay tuned as I cover the Atom Life in a series of post so if you want to keep track of it, make sure you subscribe to our feed.
