The Spb-Toshiba Team-up

I was rather surprised when I got this email in my inbox. While it’s not rare for software companies to have their products packaged with new devices, it was in this case. This is not like those times when you buy an ETEN Glofiish M800 and receive a copy of Spb Mobile Shell. Or when I bought a HTC Universal several years back and got Spb’s GPRS Monitor.
No, this was the next level of integration. Toshiba now has what they call the Toshiba Touch Interface based on Mobile Shell and Pocket Plus’s smart scrolling component. To top it off, it even has a customized version of Full Screen Keyboard. All Spb’s offerings and all tweaked so that the Portégé G810 is not only a stylish phone, but one that’s fast and responsive as well.
With this partnership between Spb and Toshiba looking very promising (at least until we can get hold of the device to review), will we need to wait for WM7 to bring the next generation of Windows Mobile to our device? (via Spb Press Release)
