The Wait For Opera Mobile9.5 Is Over

Well almost over I should say. That’s because, in about 3 weeks (July 15 to be exact), we will finally be able to download Beta 1 of what is most probably the most anticipated software for Windows Mobile. That means no more having to go to sites and download the CAB of the software made for the Diamond (you think I didn’t know did you). But why has it taken so long? In their own words:
As you probably know, releasing a version that works on a large variety of phones is more complex than making it work on one specific phone. You should also expect a few differences between the versions that are pre-installed on phones and the public version of Opera Mobile 9.5.
So let’s get off their backs (for now) yeah? Opera Mobile 9.5 is based on the same browser engine as that of Opera 9.5 for the desktop which I have tested out and can tell you, it’s really great to use. If only I did not depend on my FireFox extensions so much, I would have moved to Opera 9.5 by now.
OK enough rant from me. So mark your calendars for July 15. You’ll definitely regret it if you don’t. I know I would. (via Opera Mobile Blog)

Title is very misleading.
But it pretty much goes along with the writing style.
Well… I wanted to get your attention
Did Opera mention if that was July 2008 or 2009?
Definitely 2008. If it were 2009, I think Opera would lose their market share to the up and coming offerings.
