Unlimited International Calls At $9.95?
It’s now possible with Skype. They started off with their unlimited calling to anywhere in the US and Canada for $3 a month and later expanded that offering to cover Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey for $5.95 a month. Now with their latest plan coming in at $9.95 per month, international calls are even cheaper than before.

Well not really. You see, the unlimited calls only applies to landlines in most of Europe, plus Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Malaysia. It is free to cell phones but only in Canada, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. On top of that, it has a fair use policy of 10 000 minutes per month.
So it’s not really unlimited but still a good deal if you make most or all of you international calls to those destinations. There’re no contracts or anything of that sort and Skype to Skype calls are still free. What’s more, there’s an offer now:
Sign up for a 3 or 12 month subscription and get 33% off. Offer ends June 1st.
What this means is that you could get 1 month free when you purchase 2 months in advance, or get 12 months for the price of 9.
If you think that it’s going to be a hassle to use Skype to make these international calls, well Skype also has an access number that you can call from your landline or cell phone to place the international call. Much like using a calling card.
So what are you waiting for? If you need more information, you can head over here. I know I’m going to join them. (via Yahoo News)
