TyTN II/Tilt 3D Drivers Are Now Available
I guess we can forget about HTC ever solving this problem on the TyTN II/Tilt devices so it’s up to the community to come up with a solution. And come up they did. The Direct3D drivers are still in infancy stage and they’re still working to see how well it holds up in normal day to day usage. Here’s a video to show you what they’ve managed to come up with so far:
Looks like a step in the right direction for me, and while I do not have this device, I sure hope that a final version comes out soon enough. If you are interested in getting yourself a copy, just head over to HTCClassAction.org to grab yours. Currently, they’re not recommended for the average user unless you know what you’re doing (that is you’re a developer or very advanced user).
Sprint Offers Upgrades For The Mogul And Touch
The one for the Touch is here so if you got yours from Sprint, now would be a great time to download and install. Nothing better than to do one on a weekend when you can sort out any problems that arise as a result.
As for the one for the Mogul, it was initially released yesterday but later pulled in favor for a Monday release (not sure why). Guess you’ll have to wait till then if you were not quick enough to grab it.
With this update, you’ll be enjoying Windows Mobile 6.1, GPS, Sprint TV, and EVDO Rev. A for faster internet speeds. Looks like an update well worth installing.
BirdSoft Releases Extreme Agenda 3.3
It’s not just Sprint that’s releasing an update but so is BirdSoft. In this update for their Extreme Agenda application are some really interesting features:
- Drag -n- Drop Support on Agenda and Project Views
- Widescreen QVGA and VGA support
- Better Context Menu Support
- Day View Toolbar Option.
- Touchscreen and Standard devices can enjoy new features and optimizations including Text on Full Calendar, Appointment Maintenance options, and more…
Looks pretty impressive and makes an already great PIM even better. Check out Doug’s review on it and even though it’s on an older version, this update can only make it better. As usual, upgrades are free for users on the current 3.x version so what are you waiting for?
Get iGate On Your Windows Mobile
Here’s a rather interesting application. It’s a password screen replacement application. You know when you have a PIN set up on your Windows Mobile device, there’ll be a screen that pops up to ask you for the PIN? Well this application aims to replace that with some a lot more interesting and useful.
What it does is to provide you with more information such as showing unread mail and SMS, missed calls, your next appointment, battery and signal levels as well as the date and time.
There are already some lock applications out there that do what iGate does but they do not support PINs so if that’s what you need, you’ll definitely want to check it out. It’s $9.95 and comes with a lifetime of upgrade. It supports all type of screen (including 320×320, 240×400, 400×240, 480×800, 800×480, 240×240, 240×320 and 320×240) so you’re pretty much covered. More information here.
SugarSync Now Supports File Sending
![]()
With their dedication towards making your files accessible from just about anywhere, SugarSync has not been resting since they launched. Now, they’ve added a new service that may just make your life at managing files a lot better.
With this new file sending service, you can
send a file from SugarSync’s desktop, web or mobile applications, regardless of the size of the file or number of recipients. Recipients receive a link in an email they can use to access the file for 21 days. Anyone can receive a file, but recipients who use SugarSync can choose to have the files synced across all their computers automatically, stored only their web archive to preserve local disk space, or download it only to the machine they’re on.
Sounds like a really useful service if you ask me. No longer will you need to use YouSentIt or Pando to send (large) files across the web because SugarSync does it for you and for free (if you are a current user that is). Doesn’t get any better than that if you ask me. I wonder what else they will come up with next.
