How Does That Bluetooth Headset Fair?

Bluetooth Headset Sound Test

Ever ask yourself that question when purchasing one? I mean, reviewers can say that connection was good or call quality was decent but one’s man’s (or woman’s decent) is another’s mediocre. So how can you tell just how good the call quality of the headset is? Well, like we do for some of the our audio tests here at My Today Screen, wirelessandy has recorded audio using multiple bluetooth headsets and uploaded them for your listening pleasure. These include the Jawbone (first generation) as well as the Plantronics 925 and in various situations such as on the street and driving. Head over here for it. You’ll want to turn the volume up and get some coffee before you start as there’re quite a number of files to go through. Well worth the time for those of you looking for a good headset. Yahoo! Go 3.0 Comes To WM Touchscreen Devices

Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta The last time I covered Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta here at My Today Screen, it was to inform you that the latest beta was only meant for Windows Mobile Standard devices. That means users with touchscreen (Classic and Professional platforms) had to get the job done with v2. Well not anymore as users of the said platform can now download and use the latest beta. Just point your mobile browser to get.go.yahoo.com and you’re all set.

With this new version, you’ll get a nice new interface and the ability to add mobile widgets. These allow you to customize your internet to suit your needs. For example, if you’re a heavy eBay user, you can use their eBay widget to keep track of your auctions and bidding. Love MySpace? They’ve got that to. In short, if you find something missing from Yahoo! Go that you think would make it even better, be sure to check their widgets out and see if it’ll fill the gap.

DinarSoft Releases Memmaid v2.3

DinarSoft MemMaid They’ve been pretty quiet about Memmaid for a while now but that does not mean they’ve forgotten about it. With this latest version, changes include:

  • Support for devices with 800×480 resolution (Sony Ericsson Xperia X1)
  • Support for the latest AvantGo version (version 6.5 build 216)
  • Support for the latest Opera browser (version 8.65, build 2779)
  • Added the ability to sort the installed applications by date, name, or size
  • Minor bug fixes

If you ask me, unless you are using AvantGo or Opera browser or somehow got hold of the Xperia X1, there’s really no rush to upgrade. But then again, it is free for registered 2.x users and there are those minor bug fixes. It’s your call on this one. (via DinarSoft Press Release)

Windows Mobile 7 Is Coming

Yes, WM7 is coming

It’s one of the worst kept secrets but the thought on everyone’s mind is when is it coming? Truth be told, I would have preferred if WM had just skipped WM6.1 altogether and went from WM6 direct to WM7. Then again, I have not used WM6.1 so I can’t say if the new version is worth it. Anyway, in a recent conversation with PhoneReport, HTC’s General Manager for MEA and CIS, Kevin Chen said:

On the Microsoft side, HTC doesn’t seem to sure when the phone will be announced, but only when it should be announced, in other words, they aren’t sure of what’s happening with the Windows Mobile 7 product but they are hoping it gets to the market early next year.

Let’s just hope they can convince Microsoft to do an early push. On the other hand, I hope that pushing out early does not equate to a half-baked job. But with Google’s Android set to make a splash towards the year end, Microsoft is really up against the wall on this one. (via WMExperts)

BGR Reviews The SonyEricsson XPERIA X1

SonyEricsson XPERIA X1 Those lucky guys. While it’s not the version that would be hitting the shelves later this year (that is, it didn’t come with those cool panels), everything else is pretty much what you would expect. I’m not going to spoil the article by summarizing it for you here but I can tell you that the keyboard was a downer in their opinion. Want to know more? Head over here and get your fix. Now if only there were more pictures to feed our appetite… (via Boy Genius Report)
