Sprint To Start Selling The Treo 800w On July 13th?

Sprint's internal memo shows it debuting the Treo 800w on July 13th

To be honest with you, my guess is as good as yours, even if supported by the internal memo you see above. That’s because, we’ve been given so many estimates that it’s really hard to believe when this device will finally be in the hands of the consumer. So if you’ve been waiting a long time for this device, I sure hope that July 13th will be the day you finally find happiness. Expect to pay $599.99 without contract and $249.99 with one plus rebates. Samsung i788 To Be Masked As The BlackJack 3?

Samsung i788 For those among us looking for a front QWERTY keyboard device but are on GSM carriers, then the Samsung i788 might just be the one for you. Rumored to be brought in by AT&T and branded as the BlackJack 3, it is nothing like it’s predecessors. For one, it’ll be running Windows Mobile Professional which makes it a touchscreen device with a stylus. Expect that to be WM6.1 since it should be coming out soon enough and with the 3G frequencies that’ll function on AT&T’s network.

On paper, everything looks good for it like the 624MHz processor, the 256MB of ROM and 128MB of RAM. Whether or not we’ll see other features such as WiFi and aGPS will require further confirmation as we know how keen American carriers are in removing such features. Stay tuned! Pre-Order The HP iPAQ 910 For $449 on Amazon.com

HP iPAQ 910 Alright by now you might think that I was rather bias with the first 3 news on this article being about front QWERTY Windows Mobile Professional devices. While I am in the market for such a device, that’s just the way I received it. Maybe a sign from heaven?

Anyway, back to the topic and for those of you looking for such devices as I am, the iPAQ 910 will be sold for $449 (after a $50 mail-in rebate). Amazon.com claims to be shipping it in 1-2 months though we have reason to believe that it would be a lot sooner considering other merchants are planning to sell them in the *very* near future.

What’s really impressive about this device is the fact hat it packs a 1940mAh batter in it’s svelte 15mm thick body. Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, it’s got almost similar specs to the i788 save for a 3.1 MP and a 416MHz CPU. Interested? Head over to Amazon.com and place your order. (via Gear Diary)

Samsung i900 Omnia Videos

For those of us on this part of the globe, we’ll have to wait for a while before this beauty (or beast of a device) makes it’s way onto our shores. In the mean time, here’s a video of the Omnia handling web browsing:

Not too bad I’d say and if that’s got your appetite going for some more videos, here are a few more you’d want to check out. They’re in Vietnamese (I think) so even if you do not speak the language, you can just enjoy the video:

The Samsung Omnia is already being sold in parts of Asia like Singapore and comes in 8GB and 16GB versions. It’s feature packed with everything you would ever want in a phone and yet it’s price is rather competitive with many Pocket PCs out there. Definitely worth a look if you are in the market for one. AOL Beta For Windows Mobile Anybody?

AOL on your Windows Mobile device I’m not an AOL user, instead preferring to do my instant messaging on Google Talk and MSN. But if you’re not like me and survive on AOL, be sure to check out their new client which was made specifically for Windows Mobile. That means whether you’re running 5 or 6, Standard, Professional or Classic, it’ll work on your device. Sure there are other 3rd party solutions out there that supports multi-platform IM but nothing beats something right from the source right?

Because it’s still in beta, expect some bugs. Also, Boy Genius Report mentions that there’s no file transfer support at the moment but they’re hoping that would change when it reaches final release status. If you’re a user of this application, how’s it working for you? (via XDA-Developers)

Sprint Ready For Video Calling?

Sprint's video calls: coming to a handset near you They say the grass is always greener on the other side and I could not agree more. When I was in Singapore, I used to lament about how data rates were so expensive, it seemed like the carriers were back to using carrier pigeons (OK bad example but you get the picture). And when I got to the US, well text messaging rates and the lack of video calls were something I did not expect.

But that seems to be changing with Sprint taking the first step to provide two-way internet video (also known as video calls). According to Cellular News, Sprint needs to be delivering data speeds fast enough to make the process smooth but considering that other parts of the world are already having such a feature on similar networks, I wonder just how fast it needs to be. Windows Live Mobile Homepage Beta

Windows Live Mobile Homepage (currently in beta) I am not sure what Microsoft plans to do with this but it definitely has potential. Well for starters, the new Windows Live Mobile Homepage can be accessed by click on the link or pointing your mobile browser to http://mhome.live.com/

This service is like a one-stop shop for your Windows Live social network where you can view new posts and updates in your friends Spaces and even the files they uploaded on SkyDrive.

Right now it’s pretty bare but that’s because it’s in beta. If you have any suggestions, be sure to let the team working on it know so that they can implement it. Like I said, it’s got a lot of potential and I can’t wait to see the finished product (via 4WinMobile.com)

New Case And Discount From Proporta

Never a week goes by without Proporta adding a new item to their huge inventory or giving away some discounts. This week, they’ve got them both.

The BeachBuoy The new item is called The BeachBuoy and it’s a waterproof case (up to 5m or 16 feet) for your mobile device. It’s been tested and approved by the British Standards Institute – BSO (IP57 and IP58) so you know it’s definitely of high quality. With summer already here and many of us heading to the beach to catch some rays, this new case could not have come at a better time. Priced at $19.50, it’s a small price to pay for a keeping your expensive device save on the beach. Plus, US customers get free shipping all month June which means an even better value.

Alu-Crystal Case for the Nokia N95 As for the discount, it’s a little more specific this time around. You get a 50% discount but you can only use it to purchase the Alu-Crystal Case for the Nokia N95. Granted there are not many, if any, users of the phone on this site but a discount is still a discount. So if you know someone who needs it, tell them to use the code N95USERS and they’ll get the case for only just under $15.00. Not bad don’t you think?
