Another White Paper Of The XPERIA X1?

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

That’s right. But in case you’re wondering, didn’t we already see this some time back, well that’s because this one is the latest (revision 3). It still does not confirm the tile sensor and haptic display rumor we’ve heard but it does confirm that graphics will be handled via hardware (thank god) and that it supports super fast HSUPA.

Other notably mentions include ability to record video in VGA resolution at 30fps which makes it even easier to record and upload videos to YouTube and that the memory card will be visible as a removable disk when connected to the computer. What’s even better is that USB 2.0 is supported for the fastest transfer (at this time). Want to read the paper in full? Head over to Sony Ericsson’s White Paper List and grab your copy. HTC Raphael Shows Its Face

HTC Raphael a.k.a T-Mobile MDA Vario IV While the world was mesmerized with HTC’s showcase of the Diamond, I was more interested in the Raphael: it’s keyboard counterpart. Well Engadget has the scoop on this one which will be released as the T-Mobile MDA Vario IV in Europe in Q2 2008 (which means next month?). Weighing in at 158 grams, with 300 minutes of talk time, 480×640 pixel screen, tri-band GSM, a 528MHz processor, 256MB on-board RAM, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, FM radio, and a 3.2MP camera, it looks like the replacement for the HTC Kaiser. Now if only we could get one for the United States. Any takers? (via Engadget)

PhatWare Releases PhatPad4.5

PhatWare PhatPad I’m guessing that one of the reasons you got your Pocket PC was to take notes on the go. While the generic Notes application does a decent job of the task, it’s not all that great, especially if you are one of those power users when it comes to note-taking. Fret not because there is such an application out there that can meet your needs and its name is PhatPad.

Version 4.5 was just recently released and it brings with it many changes which include:

  • PhatPad 4.5 has been tested with latest versions of Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Mobile 6.1. We have addressed all compatibility issues discovered during these tests.
  • Addressed compatibility issue with CalliGrapher 8.6
  • Added 2 new desktop UI themes, now PhatPad includes 10 desktop UI themes.
  • Added new options that allow changing basic application behavior on the Desktop/Tablet PC.
  • Added optional taskbar icon which provides quick access to the PhatPad application and allows users to hide the main window when it is minimized.
  • Background image is now displayed in the page preview window.

If you’re a user of PhatPad v4.x, the upgrade is free. If you would like to try PhatPad, they have a free 30 day trial. After that, licenses go for $39.95. If you are using an older version of PhatPad, now would be a great time to to upgrade as they’re offering 25% for it. That means you only need to pay $19.95 instead of the usual $24.95.

Free Shipping For Proporta’s US Customers

Proporta logo Remembered the free shipping that Proporta offered to its US customers back in April? Well the company’s decided to bring it back this June (starting tomorrow). There’s no code to enter or special link to use. As long as your order has a US address as its destination, shipping will be free for you. That means even if you are located outside the US and want to send your American friend a present, shipping for that is free too. All month of June. Enjoy!!

AT&T Starts Prorated ETF

AT&T That’s early termination fees for those in the dark and that means that for every month you are with AT&T, the termination fee shrinks by $5. Not a lot when you consider that if you do decide to cancel your plan on the last month of your 2 year contract, you’ll need to pay them $60 in fees.

Still, it is a step in the right direction and rumors are that other carriers are following suit. This prorated fee applies to all new and renewing customers as well so if you were one of those who just signed up for a line over the previous weekend, then you’re out of luck. (via Engadget)

Astraware Solitaire Now Available For S60 And UIQ Phones

Solitaire by Astraware If you’ve ever showed off your cool Windows Mobile phone to the people around you, chances are they would not be able to use the great software or play the awesome games that they’ve just seen. However, if what you showed them was Solitaire by Astraware, then those days of not being able to enjoy the game are now over.

That’s because Astraware has just released the title for the S60 and UIQ platforms. What better way to celebrate the launch than to give a $10 discount on the title? Right now, you can get these new versions for only $9.95. It normally retails for $19.95. But hurry, an offer this great does not last long.

I like the XPERIA X1, but I’m afraid with the HTC Diamond launch all those iPhone-killers-wannabes will become redundant
