Sprint HTC Diamond And Touch Pro Finally Official

TouchProByHTCangle-tm Sprint_TouchDiamond

It looks like Sprint will be the first US carrier of the new HTC phones, the Diamond and Touch Pro.  According to WMExperts, the Diamond is on schedule for a September release and will be followed up by the Touch Pro on October 19th.  It is exciting to finally see these devices coming to US carriers.  CNet has posted a fairly positive review of the Sprint Touch Diamond.  It is nice to see the mainstream media can still appreciate a nice Windows Mobile phone:

The HTC Touch Diamond for Sprint brings some nice additions and improvements over the unlocked GSM version–most notably to performance. It’s best suited for first-time smartphone buyers or light users, while business customers should wait for the Touch Pro.

A Look At The Samsung Omnia i900

Samsung i900 Omnia Phone-thumb-520x415

Steve over at Tracy and Matt’s Blog got his hands on the Samsung Omnia i900.  He compares it to the iPhone, but not in a good way by saying “it is too long and also resembles the iPhone so much, I was happy not to be a fan.”  I liked this review because Steve seems to like the core Windows Mobile Professional interface more than the Samsung cover that “appeared childish in form”.  I may be one of the few that still really likes the standard interface because it is capable of providing a lot of information in one place and the navigation is so similar to Microsoft’s desktop products.  Check out the rest of Steve’s review of the Samsung Omnia and let us know if you think this might be your next phone.

Verizon Treo 700wx Gets WM 6.0 Update

WM6_Treo_700wx

Palm and Verizon try to add some life back into your Treo 700wx by releasing an update to Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional (that’s right, not 6.1).  While it is great to see updates like this, it also makes me wonder if we will ever get to a point with Windows Mobile where you don’t have to wait months and months for a Microsoft update to pass through the device manufacturer and carrier to finally be released to the end users.  Check out the following details for the 1.24 update.

HTC Touch Pro Confirmed As Fuze On AT&T…Is It The Tilt’s Official Replacement?

HTC_Fuze

Before all of our AT&T users think about heading to Sprint we wanted to share that Engadget spotted a Google cached AT&T website that provides us with a preview of the AT&T version of the HTC Touch Pro.  This leaked out in the same week that Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine predicts that the AT&T Tilt is going EOL (End of Life) by the middle of December.  This looks like it will mark the end of the “tilt” feature for AT&T’s flagship Windows Mobile phone.  It is great to see AT&T hyping a Windows Mobile phone as the “ultimate mobile smartphone”.  I hope Apple doesn’t get too offended.  I know that I am looking forward to this phone dropping on AT&T and I can only hope that they don’t ruin it with the typical AT&T bloatware.
