Welcome to My Today Screen

Welcome to My Today Screen

Welcome to My Today Screen: Another Look at Windows Mobile. We are glad you found us. Since today is our first day, and we are all still getting to know each other, I thought we might take a minute to introduce ourselves.

I am Doug Goldring (dsgoldring), the Editor-In-Chief and Co-Founder of My Today Screen. In addition to my work here, I am also a regular contributor at Gear Diary. Prior to creating this site, I was also a regular contributor and Editor-In-Chief at Just Another Mobile Monday.

Along with me is Tariq Bamadhaj. Tariq is our Admin and Advertising Director and co-founder here at My Today Screen. In addition to his work here, Tariq is also an Expert Blogger at the Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine website, and was the founder of etenblog.com.

Tariq and I created My Today Screen in order provide users with an all-in-one resource for Windows Mobile, providing reviews, tips, guides, and other expert analysis, all designed to help you realize the full potential of your Windows Mobile device. We hope you are as excited to be here as we are.

In addition to the two of us, you can also expect to hear some expert opinions from xdalaw and May, both of whom will be frequent contributors at My Today Screen. And we want to hear from you as well. Feel free to leave us a comment on any post, or drop us a line through the contact form. If you would like to join our team, just let us know by filling out the contact form on the front page of the site.

Of course, for some of you, waiting to visit the site may just take too long. You will want to subscribe for immediate updates via our email subscription or RSS feed.

I think I speak for all of us when I say welcome, have a look around, and we hope you enjoy your visit with us here at My Today Screen.

Doug – This site is hot. Great Design. You’re officially in my reader. Would love to see some coverage of the Moto Q and Blackjack type devices — particularly whether they ever overcome their seemingly too short battery life.

Wayne

Thanks for compliments on the design. It took a while but we finally got it to turn out the way we wanted.

Beautiful site! Bloody gorgeous and a pleasure to navigate and read! Another one for the daily sites bookmark folder!

April one in everyone’s mind: MyTodayScreen.com > WM 6.1

I’m glad you love the design :D I love it too. We’re still tweaking it here and there so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know about it.

I have to concur on all the positive comments on the site. Great looking and east to navigate!

Thanks, guys. Wayne, I completely agree. I would love to see a comparison of those devices as well. I just have to figure out how to get my hands on them . :)

LOL

Great looking site guys – Excellent layout, friendly colors and seems to render well in FF, IE and Safari!!

I’m not sure if your Feedburner readers button is broken or not … but it sure isn’t showing the right amount of subscribers – I’m pretty sure it should show at least one, because I’ve already added the site to my feeds about an hour ago.

Anyway, I’ll be reading! Good Luck!

Thanks for the compliments and great to hear it renders well in Safari as I did not have the chance to test it out myself.

With regards to Feedburner, it will show yesterday’s numbers so if you have subscribed, it will be reflected tomorrow. Just the way it works.

Well there you go. Looking like a million dollars. I registered but the generated password from wordpress doesn’t work?
Any way it looks fantastic

Let me know if you need a password reset and I’ll be glad to help you out.

Registered, subscribed, and looking forward to the content. The name of the site is VERY good, and from what I’ve read from you all on other sites, I’m sure this site will turn into one of my favourites.

Doug and Tariq, looks llike you outdid yorselves just yet another time! The site looks all sniny and all, I agree with previous posters.
Thought I could drop a bit of skepsis until it gets all to cool to critisize. I am very offended when I need to scroll a page as long as your front one. Isn’t is a better idea to have several separate sections like you provide in the right column (reviews, news, etc) at the top as well. This way yu could provide only the most fresh news on the front one under news section. If I want to read reviews I click on a sectin reiews (that can also contaon a short underlist of the most recent reviews – just a couple).
Other than long scrollig I’m loving it. Good Luck!

Hi Konstantin

We have taken your comment to heart and have move up the categories to the top.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Great looking site guys

Great site, and I like the colors. The mobile version is great too…looks pretty sweet on my X7501! Doug’s turning into a veritable cyber-whack-a-mole…popping up all over the cyber-place.

Looks FAB Doug & Tariq! Congratulations on the launch of your new site! :-D

Love the look and content of this new site. I’ve bookmarked it and will make it a daily stop in my online journey.

Looks great! I’ve read your stuff on Gear Diary and am looking forward to having a WM site in my bookmarks.

Congratulations on the new site. So far, looks promising. I’ll be adding it to my personal bookmark list (both on my Touch Cruise and my home machine).

Doug: Congratulations on the new site and a job well done. I’m sure you’ll change some things, but this is a great beginning. Have enjoyed your posts at Gear Diary so I look forward to your work here. Got’cha in my reader, so looks like trying to skim the news everyday just got another few minutes longer; but that’s OK, especially since I can read it Mobile. Good luck.

Looks great guys..congratulations!

Doug,

Congratulations and good luck with the site. I have read it all and it looks very promising !!!

Hope to be a regular readers.
Cheers,
Ecks.

Welcome Ecks and we would love to have you as a regular reader :D Looking forward to your comments as well.

You’ve been mentioned on the Dutch site pocketinfo.nl. Your site looks good and I’ll be a regular visitor. However, the Subscribe to My Today Screen button at the top doesn’t seem to work. ???

Hey, Bartveld, That is great. Thanks for letting us know and we look forward to your regular visits.

As for the subscribe button, try hitting the words “Posts” and “Comments” under the RSS and Email subscription blocks.

Doug

This site is great, it nice to see new and fresh ideas in windows mobile reporting. I have been reading Doug and Tariq’s work for awhile now. Keep up the great work guys.

Thanks Brian and we look forward to hearing from you in the comments section as well :D

Doug/Tariq -

I tried sending this through the Contact link above, but it seems to be broken – the Anti-Spam captcha image isn’t working. The poll on the right doesn’t do anything for me. I can’t vote nor view the results. Is it something on my end or yours?

The contact form should be working now. As for the poll, if you have voted before, you would not be able to do it again.

Thanks, Ray. Looking into it now.

Doug

I recently purchased 2 second-hand PDAs, both with Windows OS…….and I’m having fun learning. Looking forward to learning and keeping updated from your new website.

Looks like this is going to be a great site. Good Luck!

Love the name My Today Screen. So Windows Mobile. Really hope it will be as great as etenblog.com

btw, is that “welcome” post always going to be up top? Or will it be going down after the first week? I like it, but it would be one less article to scroll down in the long run if it was moved :D

Hi Doug and Tariq!
Love what you’re doing here…great site! WM seems to get a bad wrap on a lot of mobile sites so, as a fan of WM, it’s good to see a site devoted to it from a positive aspect! Keep up the good work!

Thanks ranjo. We want to share and show readers just how capable WM is.

great job guys, love the layout!gonna recommend it to everyone i know. looks like it’s gonna be a smash hit ;)

Great site. I added you to iGoogle and it worked perfectly. Now I can read all your updates all the time!

Hello Tariq,

I was wondering if you can upload your eten posts to this website, I found them very helpful in configuring my X800,

Thank for the hard work, great new site!

Sure Vinny. I actually have plans to bring them over over a couple of weeks.
