Windows Mobile More Important Than Google’s Android

That’s what HTC seems to be claiming even though they are one of the front runners when it comes to devices running Google’s new mobile platform. According to msmobiles.com:
…the Diamond phone powered by Windows Mobile, that will be announced on May 6, is the most important product for HTC this year, more important than Google Android -powered phones that HTC will release later this year.
Unfortunately, expect delays in shipments (which translates into delays of hitting stores) as HTC has yet to get certifications for the model.
I just hope that with the device running VGA that HTC has something up their sleeves so that it does not suffer from device slowdown seen in many other VGA capable devices. (via msmobiles.com)
Speaking of which, when will HTC release the video patch that we’ve heard so much about but have yet to see?

My guess is that the drivers (which I doubt we will ever see for the Tilt) will be included for the Diamond which should make a huge difference. I also would bet that once the current WinMo phones are out and in the market that we will see a change in stance from HTC as they begin to court their new Android audience.
